title. Two Vans Parked in a Yellow Wood
name. Ali Steel
right now. Third year studying Neuroscience at the University of Edinburgh
Can you describe the moment you wanted to capture?
I wanted to capture a bright and positive moment on a quite dull and cold day in November.
Where were you when you realised you wanted to make this piece of art?
I was walking in the meadows to uni, headphones in. I was in a really good mood because I’d just pet an adorable dogger (husky/german shepherd cross – google it). And yeah I was feeling observant, probably on the look out for more puppies and I realised how aesthetically pleasing my surroundings were. Maybe I was high on puppy love but I thought I should take the photo anyway to make it last longer.
Were you listening to music when you created this piece?
I was listening to Sunny by Boney.M, ironically.
What have you learnt since creating this piece?
I’ve learnt to be more appreciative of my surroundings, look up more and not to just walk looking at my feet you know.
Where do you dream of living?
In the suburbs of America, with my ideal dog (Belgian malinois) with a tragic dog name like Max or Buddy.
What does yellow remind you of?
My sister. I don’t like yellow much, that and green are my least favourite colours. They’re the shit flavoured sweets too.
