Can you describe the moment(s) you captured the photo(s)?
I didn't take the photos I painted, my mom is a photographer and takes photos of nature so I stole these two from her.
However, the moment I painted these was at the desk in my room bundled under a million layers since my flat is freezing. Which I felt was quite contradictory to what I was painting as its sunny and bright unlike my current surroundings.
Can you describe the moment you wanted to capture?
I love leaves, especially the way light shines through them. So in these paintings I was hoping to capture that light. I was looking at the leaves like stained glass and attempting to draw parallels between the two. How light is manipulated through coloured glass and how it looks through leaves I think is pretty similar and equally beautiful.

Were you listening to music when you created this piece?
Yeah I was listening to the album Waiting for the Bells by Joel Alme as well as the podcast Kid Logic by This American Life. I also watched some Chef's Table which is amazing and I highly recommend.

Where were you when you realised you wanted to make this piece of
art?
After I heard about the magazine I was really excited to contribute to the next edition. But I forgot about it until like three days ago. So I guess I realised I wanted to make this either a month and a half ago or three days ago, both are true.
What have you learnt since creating this piece?
Nothing really as I finished it moments before answering these questions.
Where do you dream of living?
Everywhere.
What does green remind you of?
Green's my favorite color so it reminds me of a lot but mostly home. I live in a forest so I'm constantly surrounded by green.
